#IVMS 4200 PCNVR HOW TO#
I just can't figure out how to get them to record to Windows Home Server. The last three lines are required in order to access the camera feeds remotely via iVMS-4500 on my phone. The first three lines are required for remote access to my Windows Home Server. Here are the port forwarding settings on the router. Here's a capture of the front door camera settings for example.

I'm trying to get the PCNVR software to record on my Windows Home Server 2011 server, cams, and iVMS-4200 on Windows 7 client are all on my LAN (192.168.1.x). I'm currently using the client software as a single PC solution for recording and live viewing. iVMS-4200 PCNVR (v1.03) is a Shareware software in the category Home & Hobby developed by HangZhou Hikvision System Technology Co., Ltd. Post up or PM configs of ivms, I have used both client and PCNVR (as well as the standalone NVR software) successfully to record.

And if you are port forwarding is the nvr on a remote network? Note: all of the software was located within the iVMS-4200 v2.Įyebrows, is that table showing the port forwarding on the router or the port information as it is configured on the device? If it is the latter then it is unnecessary. I followed an instruction I found on the web - but I can't remember where I found it. On the viewing pc, the iVMS-4200 client is run - and used to set up everything and view live cameras as well as playback video. On the recording PC the storage application (NvrStorageServer) is run (it does not have any user interface - it is controlled via the client). For configuration, on the client PC, I added the cameras, added the remote storage server, and setup a recoding schedule. The iVMS-4200 PCNVR is designed to manage the embedded network surveillance devices, such as network cameras and encoders, and provides mainly the storage. Can this also be done with iVMS-4200 v2 with Storage Server feature installed I rather use the regular iVMS-4200 v2 as it seems to get more updates.

I have been using PCNVR for awhile storing to a external harddrive. On the viewing pc I installed the client software of the iVMS-4200. What is the difference from 'iVMS-4200 PCNVR' and 'iVMS-4200 v2 with Storage Server installed'. On the recording PC I installed the storage server software of the iVMS 4200. This is not necessary - I only do that because the recording pc is located remotely and the viewing pc is connected via wireless. I use 2 computers, one for recording and one for viewing. I set it up about 2 months ago and I may not remember everything. If anyone got Hikvision iVMS 4200 v2 working as a PCNVR - would love to see how you set it up. It is a program designed to manage the embedded network surveillance devices. Instead I have gone to iVMS PCNVR v1.3 and got that working today. There are also several other with varying degrees of complexity and scale ability.Hikvision iVMS v2 seems like a better interface but I am given up trying to get the PCNVR feature working in it. There are several software vendors that will provide a web service for your CCTV streams, this just means you open up a web port for HTTP pointed to this server. So there is practically no listening port for controlled feed that I can forward to client on iVMS, other than let the client connect directly to the cameras. I've checked TCP/UDP ports, and there is only one port 8000 for storage server, and 554 for Streaming server. Or, another option is to use Citrix or something similar to publish the iVMS client app through an encrypted connection, similar to a VPN, where it is configured to access the recorders. If the VPN device is sophisticated enough, you can restrict the connection to only the IP addresses of the recorders on your network, and only to use the TCP/UDP ports used by the iVMS software. Hikvision has proven to be so hackable and weak on cyber security, it'd be the best way to insure security of the connection by a 3rd party. But I have no idea to send the feed to outside world without exposing our internal camera IPs.

I would have ruled out remote desktop in any case, it's probably the worst option when you have to deal with videos or even images.Hi,ĭVR can see outside world, and I've setup a specific public address for this DVR. 0.4(Windows,Multilingual) File/Direcory File. You can still use the iVMS 4200, but obviously you need to make sure that your DVR can see the outside world, VPN or not.
